Spurs hammered Villa 6-2 in 1958 and history repeated itself two years later with thousands in attendance.
John White scored a brace for Tottenham on the day and ensured the hosts ran out worthy winners in an eight-goal thriller at White Hart Lane.

Villa 0-2 Spurs, February 1961
The two sides met six months after the 6-2 clash and Villa failed to capitalise on the magic of the FA Cup.
The home fans packed out Villa Park in hope of advancing to the sixth round of the competition but an own goal and Cliff Jones’ strike ensured Spurs came out the tie as worthy winners.

Spurs 0-1 Villa, October 1966
Their first win away to Spurs since 1934. Villa remained a resilient outfit in the year of England’s World Cup success and came out as deserved winners.
The likes of Jimmy Greaves and Terry Venables were not enough to stop Villa from collecting all three points courtesy of a Lew Chatterley goal.

A League Cup final meeting between the two sides was narrowly claimed by Tottenham.
Martin Chivers netted in the 78th minute to give Spurs the lead and scored his second of the day eight minutes from time to write himself into the history books at Wembley.

Spurs suffered a humiliating defeat to Villa in 1980 and it was the Clarets’ third successive win against their opponents.
Peter Withe opened the scoring and a Tony Morley brace gave the hosts an excellent victory at Villa Park.

Tottenham put an end to their three-game winless streak against Villa with a comfortable victory at White Hart Lane.

The first draw between the two sides since 1993 came courtesy of a late Dwight Yorke goal for Villa.
Ramon Vega originally opened the scoring for Spurs but an 81st-minute equaliser from Yorke meant they shared the points. Paul McVeigh made his debut for Tottenham after joining the club as a trainee.
