da apostebet: Derby County are reportedly moving quickly to appoint a new manager following the sacking of Steve McClaren.
da betsson: Sky Sports claim that the former Birmingham City boss has been approached about becoming the Rams’ new leader.
McClaren was dismissed on Sunday night following Friday’s 3-0 loss to Brighton, which has left them 10 points adrift of the playoff places in the Championship.
In their last 10 fixtures in the second tier, the team could only claim two wins – against Barnsley and Ipswich Town.
According to Sky Sports, Rowett has been identified as the man to take over and the club hope to have him in place before Saturday’s clash East Midlands derby against rivals Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
Rowett, who played for Derby between 1995 and 1998, has been out of work since he was sacked by Birmingham in December.
The managerial shift was a surprise one considering that the Blues were seventh in the Championship at the time.
At the end of his first season in charge of the club, Rowett took Birmingham from 21st to 10th.
Derby fans have been reacting to the news about a potential new manager on Twitter.
