da marjack bet: Reading boss Brian McDermott felt his side showed their true identity after twice coming from behind in their Capital One Cup victory at QPR.
da dobrowin: The home side broke the deadlock at Loftus Road through Junior Hoilett and although Kaspars Gorkss levelled matters against his former club, QPR edged back ahead with a goal from Djibril Cisse. However Reading fought back again, an outstanding Nicky Shorey free-kick making it two apiece before Pavel Pogrebnyak’s cheeky backheel saw the Royals progress. The away side could even afford to see former Fulham forward Pogrebnyak miss a stoppage-time penalty as they made it through to the last 16. McDermott said afterwards:
“I was proud of my team and the way they came back. I talked about identity and the last two games in the Premier League against Spurs and West Bromwich Albion I just feel we have not performed to a level. Our identity as a team is what you saw tonight, what we’re about, and I know if we perform at that level and that tempo with the way we pass the ball with pace then we are going to be more than capable in this league. No problem.”
