Barcelona finally returned to winning ways on matchday six of the 2019/20 La Liga season.
It was far from a perfect game for the Catalans but a 2-1 triumph over Villarreal was enough for all three points.
Strikes from Antoine Griezmann and Arthur Melo in the first half propelled them to fourth in La Liga and Ernesto Valverde will hope they can continue their ascent.

Indeed, Arthur is starting to become a key member of Valverde’s squad.
Ever since he made his first appearance of the season, the 23-year-old Brazilian has been carrying the team on his back.
Of course, the importance of Sergio Busquets and Frenkie de Jong should also not be discarded but he was missed as Barca lost 2-0 to Granada; Arthur did not play a single minute in the shock defeat.
Having been restored to the starting XI, the Brazilian netted a thunderous strike from distance to put the Blaugrana two ahead. He tallied a game-highest 101 touches and deployed the second-highest 72 passes, with 90.3% accuracy.
His attacking presence was also amplified with three dribbles and three suffered fouls, with the opposition clearly struggling to contain him. But he also did a defensive shift as well, recording four tackles on the night.
According to Whoscored, he was Barcelona’s best player on the pitch, warranting an impressive 8.08 rating, higher than all of his teammates and Villarreal’s players.
Valverde surely understands by now that Arthur is one of his most important players.
