da realsbet: So Jose Mourinho is finally the king-pin at Old Trafford and he has taken little time to become accustomed to his new surroundings.
da winzada777: The former Chelsea man has taken to Instagram to proudly show off his new office, which is rather fancy indeed, and from it he will be in-charge of one of the world’s biggest and most successful clubs. With that power comes great responsibility, (sorry Peter Parker, that one was pinched) and Jose has wielded the axe quicker than the Grim Reaper on Halloween.
Sky Sports understands that both Daley Blind and Juan Mata could be set for the chop this summer after Mourinho deemed them surplus to requirements as he attempts to craft a squad capable regaining their place in the Champions League. And for poor Juan, this is the second time he has been exiled under Jose, who, if you remember, did the same thing during his second stint at Chelsea back in 2013.
He was Chelsea’s player of the season in each of the two years prior to Jose’s second appointment at the Bridge, but he soon fell out of favour and his remarkable down-turn in fortunes was quickly wrapped up when he was sold to Manchester United four months later.
But thankfully Mata is an exceptionally good footballer and should Jose agree to let him leave, there will be no shortage of teams ready to offer him a deal if the price is right.
And of the teams linked with his signature since Mourinho outlined his plans has been Everton, who are looking to Ronald Koeman to lead a mini revival after the Toffees flopped last season under Roberto Martinez. Key players quickly lost form and it is believed the Spaniard lost the dressing room during his final few months at the Goodison helm, but that will quickly be forgotten if Koeman can turn fortunes around. And there would be no better way to start than bringing in a player of Mata’s quality.
He offers consistently good performances, and to be fair to the Spaniard, he’s had it tough under Mourinho in the past. Whether it was Jose’s ever-growing need to ostracise some of the bigger players at his various clubs to support his own humongous ego is yet to be seen, but Mata really does have the ability to turn the Toffees’ fortunes sweet again.
We’ve seen it at Chelsea and United – he’s flexible, composed on the ball and can play almost anywhere from the midfield forward, and that is a real treat for a manager. He still could have his best seasons ahead of him and Everton would look to him to restore their ability to challenge for the top four once again.
In that sense, if the rumours are true, he could become one of the signings of the summer, and the most influential name to join the Toffees in the modern era. Whether or not he could go one better than a team like Everton is a possibility but again, if the now cash-rich club offer him the right deal, there is very little to stop a move unfolding.
Just think if Koeman can get the likes of Barkley, Lukaku, Stones and Deulofeu firing again, the Dutchman’s side could be the surprise package of the season.
Add Mata to the mix and who knows how well they could do.
