da apostaganha: According to the Daily Star, Manchester United are the bookies favourites to complete a double swoop for Real Madrid pair Isco and Gareth Bale in the summer.
What’s the Story?
da betway: Despite strengthening his attacking options during the January transfer window, bookies believe that Jose Mourinho will look to add Isco and Gareth Bale to his squad this summer, in a bid to close the gap on rivals Manchester City.
The Daily Star reports that United are runaway favourites to land the Real Madrid pair.
Both players have endured a tough season so far at the Bernabeu. Their clubs inconsistent form has seen a number of players come under attack from the fans and journalists.
Niggling injuries have restricted Bale to just 19 appearances this season, while Isco, who started the season brightly, has failed to reproduce his form in the most recent of his 31 appearances in the 2017/18 season.
In November, Diario Gol reported that Real manager Zinedine Zidane wanted to offload as many as eight first team players in the summer. These new reports could mean that Mourinho will look to cash in on the squad rejuvenation in the Spanish capital before the 2018/19 season commences.
Do Manchester United need the Madrid Duo?
With Transfermarkt valuing Bale and Isco at £67.5million each, it could take an almighty combined fee to lure both players away from Madrid.
However, Manchester United’s financial wherewithal is essentially limitless, so the fee shouldn’t deter the club.
What may dissuade Mourinho from making a move for the two superstars is the abundance of attacking talents already occupying squad space at Old Trafford.
Unless one or two forward players left the club, there would simply be too many players to fill the limited positions in the first eleven.
